Sharon Anne Becker Greene, a resident of Gore Road, passed away Monday September 12, 2016 at the Centers For Living and Rehabilitation. A lifelong resident, Sharon was born in Bennington on March 24, 1946 the daughter of Paul Horace Becker, Jr. and Anna Mary Angeline Pacitto. She received her education in Bennington schools, graduating from Bennington High School, class of 1964. She went on and earned her Associate Degree from Castleton State College. She worked as a Licensed Care Giver at the Community Care Home in Pownal for 11 years and then at the Vermont Veterans Home. She was Past President of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of Lourdes in Pownal and taught Catechism at the 3rd grade level for 7 years. She was on the Board of Directors for (BROC) Bennington Rutland Opportunity Council for 6 years, an original member of the Three State Cloggers, member of the Bennington Area Aids Project, Guardian Ad Litem for 2 years, past member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 13 Bennington, and Ladies of the Moose. She was an usher at Old Castle Theater and made deliveries and distribution of Commodities for BROC in Pownal for 7 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, tatting, cooking and following Mt. Anthony Union High School Football. Sharon is survived by her daughter Tammy Greene of Rensselaer, NY, step-daughter Bonnie Butler (Garry) of Wallingford, VT, step-sons Richard Greene of Peru, Maine and William Greene of St. Louis, MO, sister Marie Mason of Hoosick Falls, NY, brother Paul H. Becker, Jr. (Mary) of Bennington ,six grandchildren, one great grandson, two goddaughters, one godson and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband John Greene whom she married in Bennington in 1976. Mr. Greene passed away August, 1997. She was also preceded in death by a step-son David Greene. A mass of christian death and burial will be celebrated Saturday morning September, 17 at 10am at Sacred Heart St. Francis de sales Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. John The Baptist Cemetery in North Bennington. Visiting hours will be held Friday evening September 16, 2016 from 5-7pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT.
