Sherman Harrison Towsley

Sherman Harrison Towsley passed to his heavenly home March 12, 2025. He was born May 22, 1943 to Raymond and Shirley Harrington in Manchester Depot, Vermont.  He became the person he was because of the loving upbringing he had from his stepmother Tommi and all his loving aunts and uncles (Towsleys).

He worked as mechanic for Shortsleeve Texaco and Paul’s Arco and truck/equipment driver for towns of Dorset and Danby, Vt.  He also became a tile installer learning the skill from Joe Hegedus and Bill Bongavene. This was a skill that allowed him to shine in many areas of life and especially for his many Christian friends and family in Yakima, WA. where he moved upon retiring from The Fucci Co. where he worked doing painting and maintenance during his last years of his work life.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Barbara (Bennett) Towsley, children Scott (Char) of Edmond, OK., Kim of Rutland, VT., April (Kevin) Hewes of Sunderland, VT., Lisa Beck of Glens Falls, NY. And Melissa (Charlie)Harris of Webster, FL.  Also 6 grandchildren; Jacqi (Andy) Williams, Joe (Amber), David, Eric, Nicole (Bryce) Coolidge, Patrick (Nicole) Beck.  And 9 great grandchildren

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  We were blessed to have had great care by Alex Sands of VNA/Hospice and all the caregivers from both VNA and Bayada.
