Sidney Arthur Moss

Sidney Arthur Moss, 85, a resident of Sunderland Hill Road, passed away Monday May 27, 2019 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation. Sidney was born in Danby, VT on May 15, 1934 the son of the late Ernest and Grace (Ralph) Moss and attended local schools. He married Anna E. Hall August 17, 1974. Sidney was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict USS LSSL 68/USS St. Paul CA 73, serving 1951-1959 3rd Class. Upon being honorably discharged Sidney worked for the Hale Company and Johnson Controls for many years and was a member of both the American Legion & VFW in Manchester. He enjoyed listening to country music, duck and deer hunting, fishing, camping in Mount Tabor and Dude's camp. He loved playing cards and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a New England Patriot and Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching sports in general. Sidney is survived by his children with his first wife Betty Moss: JoAnn, Diane, Sidney, Betty Jean, Ruth, Colleen and Tommy, step-children Sharon , Mary Ann, Danny, Winfield and Michael , 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Ennis Hall who died July 12, 2009, daughter Shirley and siblings Ernest, Mabel, Etta Jean, Joyce, Nellie, Letha. George and Grace. Graveside Funeral services for Sidney will be held Monday June 3, 2019 at noon at Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. There are no visiting hours. Box 957 Bennington, VT 05201. Graveside Funeral services for Sidney will be held Monday June 3, 2019 at noon at Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland. There are no visiting hours.
