Suzanne G. Rose, 75, of Winhall, VT, passed away on April 11, 2021 at the Jack Byrne Center for Hospice Care, located in Lebanon, New Hampshire, after a 6 month battle with cancer. Born June 15, 1945 to the late William F. and Olive D. (Libby) Robinson, Suzanne grew up in Boston where she attended Roslindale High School, and Boston Business School. On October 8, 1966, she married the love of her life, Clayton D. Rose, and after living for a few years in the suburbs of Boston, Suzanne and Clay moved to Wilbraham, MA where they resided for 34 years. In 1984, Suzanne received her bachelor's degree from Western New England College, and went on to work as a medical underwriter in the insurance industry for the next 20 years. Suzanne generously gave of her time and talents, serving on the Finance Committee in Wilbraham, and the Hampden/Wilbraham Regional School Committee. She also volunteered as an ombudsman at Hampden East Nursing Home in Agawam, MA. In 1998, Suzanne and Clay purchased a second home in Winhall, VT, and became full time residents in 2008. Suzanne's volunteer activities continued in Vermont as she worked the crisis hotline for P.A.V.E., and joined Vermont Reading Partners, where she tutored numerous local students, served on VRP's board, and retired from the local non-profit as its president. Suzanne also led the Manchester Bone Builders exercise group for RSVP, volunteering over 700 hours in her 10 year tenure. And, to cap off Suzanne's civic efforts, in 2019, she joined the Manchester Lions Club. Besides giving of her time, Suzanne's other passion was baking; she baked cookies every week that she generously shared, which were enjoyed by many. Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Clayton D. Rose of Winhall, and her daughter, Karen E. Rose of Shaftsbury, she was predeceased by her son Douglas C. Rose in 1993. There will be no public services for Suzanne, but a celebration of her life will be held in the coming months, and details will follow. Clay and Karen would like to thank the staff at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Suzanne.
