Thomas T. Hoyt, of North Bennington, VT died December 26, 2022 at Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Thomas was born on April 18, 1937 in Bennington, VT. He was the sixth son of Cyril Hoyt, Sr. and Rose (Willis) Hoyt and grew up in Arlington, VT and was a graduate of Arlington High School. Thomas was an avid sportsman and excelled in basketball, soccer, baseball and he loved to play golf, fish and hunt his entire life. He served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Cromwell (DE 1014) as an I.C. electrician from 1958 to 1962. He retired from the Eagle Square MFG. Company in Shaftsbury, VT as the manufacturing quality control manager after 40 years. He earned an Associates degree from the Community College of Vermont and was a member of various local development groups over the years. He also served as Deacon and Trustee of the First Baptist Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife, the former Joan Bump, whom he married at the Chapel at the First Baptist Church in Bennington, VT on June 26, 1960, his three daughters are Melody Hoyt Persons (Paul) of NH, Sarah Hoyt Hollister (Kevin) of Shaftsbury, VT, Allison Hoyt Stitcher of Bennington, VT, his grandchildren are Emily Nowlan, Bradley Hollister, Jacob Persons, Mathew Persons and Chloe Stitcher, great grandchildren are Evelyn Belle Nowlan and Caroline Catherine Hollister, siblings Irene Burke, Theodore Hoyt, James Hoyt, Duane Hoyt, Ralph Hoyt, Gene Hoyt, and Ann Benini. He was predeceased by his siblings Cyril Hoyt, Jr. and Frederick Hoyt, Sr. Family was an important component of who Tom was. Though a man of few words, he was ever present and a friend to most. He will be forever loved and remembered
