Tricia Hayes

October 11, 1948 — April 12, 2022

Tricia Hayes, 73, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in history and received her master's degree in public administration from Antioch. Tricia lived all over Southern Vermont and Nantucket until making her home in Manchester in 1972 and soon after she built her own local business, Focus Advertising and Public Relations. Throughout her career, she lent her skills to the Bennington Museum, Vanderbilt Equities, the Equinox, and the Sagamore. She launched the first street fair, coordinated the roundabout project, and edited the Battenkill Business Journal, among many other acts of service. Tricia was an accomplished seamstress, conversationalist, flower gardener, and pie crust maker. She loved reading in the sun, putting her feet in the ocean, lemony desserts, and all performing arts shows- particularly at Jacob's Pillow. She was a fiercely devoted mother who encouraged her children to experience all that life has to offer. A lifelong adventurer, Tricia traveled to many countries and visited six continents. Lately she enjoyed frequently visiting her son, Tom, and his wife Heather in Idaho and her daughter Kate, husband Garnet, and her grandchildren Vivian and Zelda in Arizona. She was her best self when on the move and though she slowed down near the end she died with a full account of fresh frequent flier miles. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Hamilton. At her request there will be no formal services. To send the family personal condolences please visit www.sheafuneralhomes.com.
