Walter William Burdick, Sr.

Walter William Burdick, Sr. 63, a resident of Schenkar Road, passed away Friday September 10, 2021 after a brief illness surrounded by loved ones at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Walter was born in Bennington on July 1, 1958 the son of the late Walter F. Burdick and Anna Mae Jennings. Walter attended local schools. At the time of his death, Walt was currently employed at the Vermont Department of Highway Maintenance and has been for many years. He has also worked at L&G Fabricators Inc., Pownal Tannery and Bennington Iron Works. He enjoyed hunting, summertime with his family, tinkering and listening to old time rock and roll music, WPYX 106.5 was his favorite station. Walter is survived by his wife of 41 years Debra J Burdick of Pownal, son Walter W. Burdick, Jr. and daughter Cindy M. Burdick and her significant other Jeremy Chrisman all of Pownal, his sister Robin Burdick of North Adams, MA, 2 brothers George Burdick (Vicky) of Canastota, NY and Michael Burdick (Andrea) of Bennington and many nephews and nieces. A time of visitation for Walter will be announced at a later date.
