Walter Taylor

Walter Monroe Taylor, Sr., 65, a resident of Pownal, passed away February 3, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Walter was born in Cambridge, VT on October 23, 1951 the son of the late James Monroe and Florence Sylvia (LaPlante) Taylor and attended local schools. Walter worked as a self employed Tree Surgeon for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going on camping trips and loved traveling to Alaska where he once lived. He was an avid New York Yankee and New England Patriot fan and cherished times spent with his family. He is survived by his fiancee Karen Offerman. His children Walter Monroe Taylor Jr of Rutland, Rhonda Caron and her husband Ron of Pownal , Karrie Krawczyk of Pownal , Derrick Taylor and his fiancee Tara Parks of Pownal, brothers Wendell Taylor and his wife Patty of North Pownal and Sonny Taylor of Buskirk, NY, sister Irene Carlson of South Carolina, grandchildren Anastasia, Walter III, Savanah Taylor, and Crystal Luciano, Codie and Ezra Caron, Brodie, Karson and Gavin Krawczyk and Wyatt and Uriah Taylor, great grandchild Cylis Luciano, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sisters Marion Raymond, Dorothy Corwell, Dora Tatro, Pearl Martin and Wanita Baker. Memorial services for Walter will be held Wednesday February 8, 2017 at 2pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, VT. A visiting hour will be held one hour prior to the service. Following the service a celebration of life gathering will take place at the Bennington Elks Club.
