Wanda-Jean Melissa Bendig

Wanda-Jean Melissa Bendig, 64, a resident of Middle Town Road, passed away June 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family after a battle with stage 4 Colon Cancer. Wanda was born in Townshend, VT on November 4, 1954 the daughter of the late Winston and Ella M. Karlander Abbott, attended Flood Brook School and graduated from Burr & Burton Seminary. Cared for by her daughter and nieces, she was a loving wife, mother, grand mother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to so many people. She enjoyed spending time with her family which was very important to her. She loved traveling around Vermont, loved collecting her angels, flowers, watching Days of Our Lives and hosting family cook-outs. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and was also formerly active with the Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad. She worked for Tony Tates and Country Cleaners. She is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years Edward A. Bendig of South Londonderry, VT, her puppy Amber, daughter Michele L. Wyman of Londonderry, granddaughters Felicia-Jean L. Bowen and Ashley L. Wyman both of Springfield, VT, great grandson Mason R. Bowen also of Springfield, VT, brothers Henry Abbott of Londonderry, Ralph Abbott of Andover, VT and Nelson Abbott of Londonderry and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Winona Johnson. She was very much loved, an inspiration to everyone and a very caring strong willed woman with a big heart. At the request of the family there are no formal funeral services. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
