Wilhoite (William, Bill) George Goode, 92, a resident of Manchester, VT passed away February, 2022 at his home. Bill was born in Manhattan, New York state and grew up in the Bronx. Bill was married to Dorothy Goode for over 60 years. He was retired stockbroker from Merrill Lynch and was the former co-owner of Windigo Travel Inc. in Manchester, VT with his wife. He and his wife traveled extensively and were expert skiers. Bill was US Army veteran of the Korean War. Bill and his wife both enjoyed golf and played at many courses around the world. They were members of the Dorset Field Club in Manchester, VT. He enjoyed fast cars, and driving fast. During many trips out west he and his wife skied virtually all the major ski areas in the US and North America, included extended visits to Aspen, CO, Steamboat Springs, CO, and Big Sky Montana. During these trips he became a collector of western art. Bill enjoyed learning about wines and cars, and read many war histories. Bill and his wife were instrumental in encouraging their niece and nephew to take up skiing and golf. Bill is survived by his niece, Anne Blanchard of Natick, MA and nephew, Donald Blanchard of Pittsburgh, PA. He is preceded in death by his spouse, Dorothy (Dottie) Goode, his parents Maxine Goode and George G. Goode of New York. He will be buried with his wife in Bridgeport, CT in the Mountain Grove Cemetery. .
