William Frederick (Butch) Hulett, 75, of Manchester Center, passed away at home August 3, 2016 following a extended illness. Butch was born on December 28, 1940 in Manchester, VT to William Edward and Louise (O'Dea Balch) Hulett. He received his education in Manchester schools, graduating from Burr & Burton Seminary class of 1958. He went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy and was part of the Cruiser-Destroyer Group, Seventh Fleet in the Western Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea during the Viet-Nam War. Butch was a logger for many years. He also worked as a mechanic and truck driver for Dorr Oil Company until his retirement in 2008. He married Linda (Croff) Hulett on August 7, 1971. He was a member of the Harned-Fowler VFW Post 6471 in Manchester, a volunteer firefighter for many years and member of the Adoniram Lodge #42 F. & A.M. Butch was an avid musician, playing instruments such as the piano, fiddle, banjo and spoons. He enjoyed deer camp, carpentry projects, horse pulling, tractor pulls and spending time with his grandsons. Butch enjoyed following the Boston Red Sox. Butch is survived by his wife, Linda, and their three children, Thomas Croff of Manchester, Holly O'Brien (and James) of Manchester, Edward Hulett (and Nichole Cassan) of Arlington, and two grandsons, Liam and Ronan O'Brien. He is also survived by siblings, Marjorie Morse of Bennington and John Hulett of Bozeman, MT, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ann Hodgin and Katherine Danforth. Funeral services for Butch will be held Thursday August 11, 2016 at 2pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 5-7pm when the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Butch's memory may be made to Bennington Project Independence or the Harned-Fowler VFW Post 6471, co Brewster-Shea Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester center, VT 05255. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Butch will be held Thursday August 11, 2016 at 2pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT. Interment will be private. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday August 10, 2016 from 5-7pm when the family will be in attendance
