William Spencer

William Dent Spencer, 72, formerly of Greenfield died December 16, 2015 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington VT. Bill was born August 31, 1943 in Waltham MA son of Marguerite Dent Spencer deceased and Andrew Spencer also deceased. He was a US Army veteran and a graduate of the University of Hartford where he majored in economics. While he lived in Greenfield he would spend countless hours researching the history of Greenfield by going through old copies of the Recorder dating back to the 1800's. Was intrigued by the architecture of the Civil War period. He moved to Vermont during the 1990's where he practiced his life as a free spirit. He leaves behind two brothers John Spencer of Northampton and Charles Spencer of Denver Colorado. A sister Christine Angelico of New Britain CT. His other sister Ann Spencer Austin of Clearwater FLA passed away in 2001. A graveside service will be held Wednesday December 23rd 11 A.M. at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington VT.
