Eleanor Morell

Eleanor Marie Morell, 73, a resident of Winchester, VA and formerly of Manchester Center, VT passed away December 24, 2017 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Eleanor was born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 2, 1944 the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (French) Fitzpatrick. Eleanor attended Watertown and Belmont, Massachusetts schools, graduating from Belmont High School. She received her Registered Nursing certification from Newton-Wellesley Hospital in 1965 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Castleton State College. In her earlier years she worked in hospital intensive care and emergency room units. She worked for the Manchester Health Services, at Northshire Medical Center where she was Dr.Keith Michl's nurse, and was Dr. Judy Orton's nurse for many years. She was a very active member of the Redland United Methodist Church in Cross Junction, Virginia and was dedicated to their OutREACH program. Eleanor enjoyed needlepoint, was an avid reader, loved traveling especially to Disney World, the ocean and the Maine coast. She was a New York Giant football and Boston Red Sox baseball fan and cherished times spent with her family especially her grandchildren. Eleanor is survived by her husband Ronald L. Morell of Winchester, Virginia whom she married May 21, 1966 in Belmont, Massachusetts, children Amy Preuss and her husband Roger (Chip) of Manchester, Scott Morell and his wife Anne of Manchester and Gregory Morell and Jennifer Morell of Winchester, Virginia and grandchildren Roger (Trey) Preuss III and his wife Danielle, Ashley Marie Preuss, William and Calum Morell, Jenna and Tessa Morell. A Memorial service for Eleanor will be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the Redland United Methodist Church of Cross Junction, Virginia or the cancer charity of your choice c/o Brewster-Shea Funeral Home.
