Jack Bell died peacefully at home on October 23 surrounded by his family. Jack came into this world on December 1, 1929, son of Elizabeth Bell. He was raised in Manchester and attended grade school at the Village School and high school at Burr and Burton Seminary where he excelled in football and baseball. He moved to Boston and attended Bryant Business School. He married his childhood sweetheart, Genevieve Blackmer. They resided in Boston until Jack joined the Army in 1951. He proudly served his country on the front lines of the Korean conflict (1951-1952). He returned to Manchester and worked in the car industry for over 30 years. Jack was instrumental in starting Little League in Manchester and later Town Team hardball in Southern Vermont. Jack was a member of the VFW Post and the Masons. He married Nathalia (Shalie) Owens in 1982 and they were vastly devoted to each other. Jack is predeceased in death by his first wife, Genevieve Bell, his son-in-law Brooks Brown and his only grandchild Sean Stephen Wood Cornell. He is survived by his wife Shalie, his daughters Jackie Bell-Sargood (Skip), Melissa Bell-Johnson (Frank), Mimi Brown and his step-children Linda Owens- Porter, Sandi Owens-Brainard, Ron Owens (Robin) and Kim Kelly (Jib). Services will be held at the discretion of the family.
