Sharon Macfarlane

Sharon Ann Wry MacFarlane, 72, a resident of Route 121 East, passed away Tuesday March 28, 2017 at her home. Sharon was born in Hillsborough New Brunswick, Canada on July 16, 1944 the daughter of Rev. Arlington Edgar Wry and Rev. Anna Catherine Himes. She went to high school in Pittsfield NH and attended Boston University for her undergraduate degree Sharon worked as a public school music teacher in New Hampshire for many years and performed well over thirty years on the Renaissance Faire Circuit. She played as church organist and was choir director for various churches in New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. She was a former member and Past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star also in New Hampshire, Vermont and Rhode Island. She was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), enjoyed watching Star Trek, gardening, breeding roses, writing poetry, which some of her works were published nationally and loved traveling to York Beach, Maine. Sharon is survived by her son James Wry MacFarlane and his wife Stacey of Alexandria, VA, daughters Catherine Preble and her husband Brian of Grafton and Wryanne MacFarlane-Zwolenski and her husband Daniel Zwolenski of Austin, TX and her grandchildren Dylan, James, Willa, Maddison and Myanna. Funeral services for Sharon will be held Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11am at the First Baptist Church in Manchester. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening April 11, 2017 from 5-7pm at Brewster-Shea Funeral Home 34 Park Place Manchester Center, VT.
